Silver Reef Historical Lecture: "The Page Ranch" by Lisa Michele Church (author of a new book about the ranch)
The Page - Richey Ranch six miles from Pinto by Old Irontown is one of the most unusual examples of
mid-1800s homesteading in southern Utah. The red brick double cross wing style mansion housed not
only a large family but functioned as a stop on the wagon road to California. We will see photos of the
people and furnishings that made the ranch a beautiful beckoning way station, and we will also explore
the ranch's ties to mining, horticulture, Native Americans and even Japanese families who stayed there
during World War Two.
This program is sponsored by the Silver Reef Museum and will be held at the old Cosmopolitan Restaurant.
For more information, contact the Museum at Museum@SilverReef.org or call (435)879-2254.
