Most of you already know Boma Johnson, Archaeologist, who teaches a popular series of Community Education classes about Ancient Native American Archaeology. You know how much Boma loves Native American culture, but did you know he also was a Geology major in college, and loves to share this knowledge with others in a fun & “user-friendly” way? This is NOT the scary science class of your high school days that required learning a new science vocabulary, & memorization of facts & figures. The more modern approach of Earth Science Studies ties aspects of the various sciences together into a unified whole, to give a greater understanding of how they function together as our home, the Planet Earth! We’ll PROMISE NOT to overwhelm you with tricky terminology, and we’ll entertain you with “fun stuff” like local scenery & animals, volcanoes, dinosaurs, the solar system and so on. Of course, we will always emphasize the “Human Side” of Earth Science, and tell the story of the Native Americans who made this area their home.

So if you will still be here in town in early Summer, come keep us company in the same comfy room - same time, same place…and with the AC on! As always, our classes are science-based and inter-related and constantly updated with information from new research. The class will be presented with a variety of new & updated media, with Power Point Presentations & short lectures, intensive informational e-mail hand-outs (that are alone worth taking the class!) and Videos & DVDs. Classes are taught like “real school”, with discussion periods at the end of each class, and they are FUN too!
